Rambles

Happy Wednesday everyone. I am having a great day and I hope everyone else is too. Tonight will be Nathan's first night in 4 year old choir at FBC JAX. My parents joined the church when I was 4 and I have such great memeroies from my first year in Mrs. Bristow's Choir :) I am excited to have Nathan starting in this great children's music program. I can't wait to here him singing such sweet songs. I hope he will have the words in his heart forever just like I have.

Also, there are more great pictures from In His Image Photos of The String Group. Here is the link

kaylee is a kisser

Last Tuesday I was at the mall with my two little ones. On Nathan's first day of school I got a copy of Trinity's Dress Code with a check beside the haircut policy. This paper was politely telling me Nathan needed a hair cut; underlined in the code was "above the eyebrows" "above the ears" and "off the collar" While at the mall I decided to get Nathan's haircut; (which he hates) I told him that if he was good for the cut he could play at the mall playground.

When we finally made it to the playground Nathan and Kaylee made a friend with this cute little Indian boy. I decided to use the opportunity to talk to the boys mother. She was a kind mom and I enjoyed talking to her about her religion, time here in the states and future move back home to India.

As I kept an eye on the children I noticed Kaylee pushing the boy against the wall, I thought she was bothering him, well before I could say anything she had planted her lips on the boy's lips. The mom was tickled by it and shrugged it off. Kaylee didn't do it anymore so I decided not to make a big deal of it, sometimes that makes things worse.

Well, tonight when Daniel picked Kaylee up from the nursery he said he saw her kissin on two boys while he was in the line to pick her up. I had not felt any need to tell him about her incident in the mall but when he told me about it, I told him about the mall. He decided to tell Kaylee the only boys she should be kissing are her daddy, brother, buddy and papa! Daniel then said...."Looks like she is takin after her momma!"

Nathan is 4

Saturday night we celebrated Nathan's 4th Birthday. We enjoyed having family over and thanking the Lord for the blessing Nathan has been. He is such a happy boy and there are so many moments during the day that I just stop to enjoy his bright eyes and big smile. I love his energy that he brings to our family and can't wait to see what the Lord will bring about in the years to come.

In His Image and The String Group

I have certainly enjoyed starting The String Group with three of my good friends. We have been playing together since I was in 10th grade and I can truly say starting a business together has really brought us even closer. Last weekend we had such a great time taking group pictures with In His Image Photos. They were so easy to work with, really taking special time and attention to our session. I am very excited about the teasers from our session that they have posted on their blog,

Check them out. They are right below a cute little baby c, that some of us may already know!

No Sew Project

Slowly, I am beginning to explore what little bit of creativity I have! I bought my first glue gun and some tacky glue back a couple months ago to start making Kaylee some of those BIG southern ribbon bows. I have been somewhat successful when I remember to buy ribbon.

Today I decided to fix a pretty ugly problem I had with Kaylee's Toy Chest/Bench. Last Christmas we bought her the cutest white toy chest. The only problem that I realized as soon as it came in the mail was that white cloth cushion on the top could not be detached for cleaning! Sure enough after a couple months it started looking dingy! I finally bought some fabric and decided to velcro on a cover. This turned out to be a quick, easy and cheap project! I even like it better then when we first got it and I can now take it off to clean.

Last, I wanted to show another 'crafty' thing I have been doing for Bday presents for little ones. They are a super easy, cute, personal and practical gifts. I call them refrigirator name magnet clip boards...ok i just made that up, maybe you can come up with something cuter :)

Nathan Takes Down His Crib

You know a kid is ready for a big boy bed when he can take his crib down himself! Today we finally got a twin bed for Nathan! He has been in the crib with the front raised down for quite some time. He has been able to get in/out of his crib since he was 14 months old and really hasn't ever hurt himself. Today while I was taking the sides to the garage nathan went to town with his alan wrench. Here is a short video of his handywork!

First Professional Family Pictures...

Last saturday we ventured to Hanna Park to try to get some family pictures. The kids weren't exacltly in the picture taking mood but they are 2 1/2 and 4 so sometimes you get what you get! lol. I am very happy with them and actually enjoy the ones that show their 'excitement' to be there. Jake Roth is the photographer; He is a super nice guy and takes some great pictures. Well, here are some...i may put them all in a slide show later.

check out kaylee mad at us for not paying her any attention :P:

Playing at the Park

We had a busy day today. I really try to consider the kids when they spend most of their day in a carseat, into a stroller, back into the carseat; in and out of places running errands or shopping. As much as I would like to get my to do list done as soon as possible, I have learned the benefit of taking a fun break for the kids (and myself). My answer is a local park! I know where the best ones are all over town. Stopping at a park is free and it just gets everyone in a better mood, making memories as you go along.
